Delta Grand Prix of Art 2015

Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Description:

Registered artists of all ages will be allocated a painting location in the village where they will have 3 hours to complete a work of art before returning to our display location at the Ladner Community centre. The completed works will be displayed for the public with cash awards for top prize; runner ups along with other cash prizes.

Young people are also encouraged to participate with dedicated awards, and prizes. Visitors will also be given an opportunity to participating as they are encouraged to enjoy art in action as artist compete against the clock in this grueling 3 hour location painting challenge.

Let’s get this whole province painting! Be a part of the Opus Outdoor Painting Challenge (#OPC2015) this Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10th.

This FREE community-based art challenge invites people of all ages and artistic abilities to spend the day together creating outdoors.

From seasoned plein air painters and novice artists who love the great outdoors, to groups of friends looking for a creative activity, and families celebrating a meaningful Mother’s Day with a painting picnic – all are invited to join in the fun!

This year’s Outdoor Painting Challenge offers over $20,000 in prizes to be won at our 6 Opus locations across BC – from Opus Gift Cards for the judges’ selections to amazing draw prizes from the top brands in art supplies.

Participating artists will be working on location in several great spots throughout the heritage townsite near Molly’s Reach, on the public wharf and along the nearby Seawalk and parkways. Painters will enjoy spectacular views of the Howe Sound islands, towering coastal mountains, character buildings and the colorful working harbour with vintage wooden boats. Artist Demos, Art Studio hub, Wet Paint gallery, intro BBQ and more ! Part of the IPAP Worldwide PaintOut.

Plein Air Cherry Blossom Festival

Description:

There are 4 categories, SKETCHING, WATERCOLOUR, ACRYLICS and OILS. Each Category will have three (3) prizes sponsored by Opus Art Suppies.

Registration to the painting instruction on the 11, 18 & 19 will receive a gift bag full of painting materials and a free entry to the plein air competition.

Dates: Separated registration required but each allows you to participate in the plein air challenge on the 11th
