Paint the Peninsula is a juried competition sponsored by the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center located in Port Angeles, Washington on the glorious Olympic Peninsula September 7 through 14, 2014.
If you want to paint salt water, rivers, lakes and waterfalls, mountains, industrial cityscapes, big trees and the rain forest, practically without moving, come see the varied and beautiful locations on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.
This five day painting contest will offer more amazing opportunities for the plein air painter than you have ever imagined. Paint the Peninsula for the ultimate Pacific Northwest experience. Artists will have an opportunity to hang their work daily for sale. Paint the Peninsula is a juried competition. Each artist needs to submit three images of their best recent plein air art work by April 14th at the latest.
Prospectus
Cash prizes of $3100 will be awarded, along with numerous Sponsor Merit Awards. Best of Show is a cash award of $1500 and includes the honor of having the artist’s winning artwork become the image on the 2014 Plein Air Special Limited Vintage Wine produced for the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center by Camaraderie Cellars to be released later in the year as well as being featured in the following year’s promotional materials for Paint the Peninsula.
